I’m back and I’ve dumped Wordpress for Hugo

Wow, it certainly has been a long time since I’ve updated this site and so much has changed.

First things first. The easiest path isn’t always the best approach over time it rarely is. In this case, I went with WordPress many years ago as it seemed to be the easiest way to get a site up and running. But for smaller sites like this, that is akin to using an excavator to plant a seedling. A total overkill, not to mention pointless overheads slowing the site down unnecessarily.

Then, a cloud mate of mine over at talkncloud told me about Hugo. Well, after a bit of pain and suffering, I am back up as a Hugo generated static site. And WOW, it’s so much faster.

Yes, I know, different templates and all, nevertheless, perception is all that matters right lol.
