VT-d Passthrough with ASRock Z87M Pro4

This post has been moved to my new site. Comments have been disabled here. I can confirm that VT-d passthrough appears to be working just fine with the new ASRock Z87M Pro motherboard. I don’t have a need for it just yet but all the options appear to be available and it’s showing as enabled in the BIOS.  And my USB devices were able to passthrough without incident as well

Haswell Based ESXi mATX Server

With the release of the Intel Haswell SKU and Z87 series motherboards, I thought it would be a good time to look at upgrading my ESXi box at home. My current configuration is: HP N54L Microserver 16Gb Kingston ECC RAM HP P410-512 RAID 4 x Hitachi 2TB HDDs My new ESXi server will comprise of the following components: SilverStone “Temjin series” TJ08E Black mATX Case 450W “Antec” Neo-Eco PSU ASRock Z87M PRO4 motherboard Intel i7-4770 Core i7 Processor 32Gb Non-ECC DDR3 RAM HP P410-512 RAID 4 x Hitachi 2TB HDDs This is a significant spec upgrade from the old microserver so am expecting to see some good performance gains.
